Our lives would not be the same without chickens. And that's no eggs-aggeration. In Britain we ate more than 12 million eggs between us in 2015 according to the British Egg Industry Council. And about 370 million chickens are bred for food in Britain each year, plus the equivalent to about 400 million more in imports. As a nation, we really love chicken.
